Reaume Tabs Green For Martinsville Truck Series Ride

#04: Clayton Green, Roper Racing, CarQuest Chevrolet Silverado

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Clayton Green has landed a ride with Reaume Brothers Racing for his final NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start of the season Friday night at Martinsville Speedway.

Green, 27, will drive the No. 22 Royal Vista Inc. Ford F-150 in the Zip ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ 200 at the .526-mile paper clip, making his second career Truck Series appearance and first since North Wilkesboro (N.C.) Speedway in May.

Pedro Lopez will serve as Green’s crew chief for the penultimate Truck Series race on the calendar, which will be the Marble Falls, Texas’ driver’s debut at the shortest track in NASCAR.

“It’s a privilege to be able to be back in the Truck Series this weekend at Martinsville and I’m extremely grateful to Josh and everyone at Reaume Brothers Racing for giving me the opportunity to drive for them,” Green noted. “We made some really positive connections this summer that helped us get all he right pieces in place to make this deal happen, and I’m really excited because I love racing at historic racetracks … so to be able to say that my first two truck races were at North Wilkesboro and Martinsville truly checks that box in every sense of the description.

“Being at a short track, I feel like I’ll have a bit of an advantage because I’ve been racing a pro late model this year and my background is in short track racing, so it should only help me get comfortable quickly given that we only have about 20 minutes of practice before qualifying and the race,” Green continued. “I’ve spent some time with the team in North Carolina leading up to the weekend, so hopefully we can jell quickly and get in a place where we can go out and race solidly Friday night.”

Much like his experience at North Wilkesboro, when he drove the No. 04 for Roper Racing, Green hopes to keep the fenders clean and gain respect – while also overachieving if he’s in a position to do so.

“We don’t want to affect any of the playoff drivers’ races, but we also want to go out and earn the strongest finish possible for our team along the way,” he said. “Obviously, racing at Martinsville means that there’s probably going to be some beating and banging, but we’ll do our best to stay out of as much chaos as we can and see what that gets us at the end of 200 laps.”

Green would like to thank Royal Vista Inc., Race Face Brand Development, and the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation for their support of his racing efforts.

Broadcast coverage of Friday’s Zip ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ 200 at Martinsville is slated for 6 p.m. ET, live on FS1, the Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.
